Procedure "Educational Integration of Students from Ethnic Minorities and/or Seeking or Granted International Protection"
The project "Friendship" is implemented by the Association "Resource Centre for European Cooperation" in partnership with the municipality of Pazardzhik and two of the schools on the territory of the city (G.S. Rakovski and Hristo Smirnenski).
Main objective The project's aim is, through the implemented activities, to help students from ethnic minorities from the partner schools in Pazardzhik (G.S. Rakovski School and Hristo Smirnenski School) to develop as full citizens and to achieve successful personal, professional, social and creative realization.
Planned activities Include: additional Bulgarian language training for students for whom Bulgarian is not their mother tongue; provision of an appropriate educational environment for the inclusion of students from Roma background; activities aimed at preserving and developing the cultural identity of students from ethnic minorities and their peers in an integrative multicultural environment; working with parents and encouraging their participation in the educational process; support for students from ethnic minorities to continue their education in the secondary school stage and to successfully graduate from the school.
The target group includes:
- Ethnic minority students;
- Parents;
Resultsthat we want to achieve through the implementation of the project are:
- Compensating for gaps in learning material through additional activities with ethnic minority students;
- Tolerant attitudes among communities of different ethnicity at local level;
- Motivated students and parents to participate in the educational process;
- Improved conditions for equal access to education and training;
- Formed practical skills and development of personal, professional, social and creative realization of the target group included in the project;
- Improving the quality of education by creating conditions for successful socialization of ethnic minority students;
